Yahoo Pipes Update ??

Hi, I noticed there are several outstanding questions regarding yahoopipes but I have not yet seen a fix.
I have fixed my links to read & instead of &, this fixes the issue of allowing the feed to even be used by wp-o-matic, however, it does not actually fetch the pipe even though it showed a check next to it as if its validated.
Does this have to do with the construction of a pipe? I personally am only able to fetch xml feeds with wp-omatic, not rss.

I tested the source from a regular rss that works with wp-o-matic and then one from the same rss run through yahoo pipes which didnt work, it seems to me that the markup language is the issue. Yahoo pipes outputs rss v2.0 where the original was rss v.91.
As stated in other places, the issue is non-letter characters often have extra verbiage, for example, the letter & is & etc.
Accepting RSS 2.0 seems to be a bug to fix.
Please let me know your thoughts.
