cron job doesn't trigger fetching

In RC 3-7 the cron job is logged as having executed successfully, but the (in my case sole) campaign is perpetually listed as
- Next campaigns to process
- Shared articles - Next!
Manually clicking "fetch" on the campaign's overview fetches new items from the feed just fine.

This is a known bug, and a temporary unofficial solution is here:
