Need explaination about WP-o-Matic

Hello again!
I will like to fully understand how works WP-o-Matic.
How do the cron job affects the RSS fetching?
How does the Frequency option works?
What happens if I uncheck Unix cron in options?
Why does my last fetched articles do not appear on my homepage though I have checked this option in settings?
Because for me the script is unfortunately not working I can only fetch the new RSS manually but when the campaign proceds nothing changes even if there have been new articles in the RSS feeds.
I have put as a cronjob this address:

Though it doesn't work.
