Cron URL does nothing
Reported by Japh | March 5th, 2009 @ 02:43 AM
Hi, I hope I'm not submitting a duplicate...
The issue is, my crons seem to be happening correctly and being logged... but they don't actually do any importing. If I run "fetch" on a campaign, then it will import items, but the cron is not.
With stdout logging enabled and browsing to the WebCron URL, I just get: "Running cron job" Even though there are items in the feed which should be being imported. Then when I click "fetch" to manually import, they import just fine.
Any help please?

I'm having EXACTLY the same problem.. I thought I'd cracked it by installing SimplePie-core but it's back again.
The one thing I did do was delete some posts that had been pulled by WPO through the WP interface, I'm not sure of this has affected anything though.
I'm running WP 2.7.1, latest WPO and importing from Twitter and Flickr.

I can get posts into the system using the cron if I reset each campaign so it shows never active and re-run the cron.

I have tried resetting the campaign to see if that fixes the issue. But it appears it does not :(

I seem to be having the same issue. When I run the cron job, even with a web command in the browser, I get:
March 9, 1:18:20 pm - Running cron job
No processing item

@Kirk that's exactly what happens to me too... I have to manually click "Fetch" for each campaign in the admin for it to actually process items.

I have seen toggling the cron option in the settings fix this issue.

@trapmuzik, I Tried that, and doesn't work for me :(
Would be interested to know if Guillermo Rauch has had a look at this and has any ideas what might be going wrong...

Japh,
Please wait for the 1.5 release. It'll be seeded to beta testers tomorrow.

Oh dear... I've worked out where I was going wrong, and I feel a little foolish.
I had my cron running every 15 minutes, and wondered why the feed wasn't updating every 15 minutes even though the cron was running successfully... turns out, I had that particular campaign only set to update every 1 day 5 hours... I changed this to 15 minutes, and now it's working fine!
My humble apologies! Thanks for your time, sorry to have wasted it.
Looking forward to the 1.5 release too though!
Best of luck, Japh
