Issue with the source permalink

Im running into a weird issue.
When i get new posts, links using: get_post_meta($post->ID, "wpo_sourcepermalink", true); link to the post's actual permalink, not to the source permalink. If i go to the post and UPDATE it, then it works correctly.
Any idea what could be causing this?
