  I believe I can shed some light on this bug.

  from RFC #4287, "The Atom Syndication Format" chapter 3.1 "Text constructs" (http://atompub.org/rfc4287.html#text.constructs)

  If the value of "type" is "html", the content of the Text construct MUST NOT contain child elements and SHOULD be suitable for handling as HTML [HTML]. Any markup within MUST be escaped; for example, "
  " as "<br>". HTML markup within SHOULD be such that it could validly appear directly within an HTML

  element, after unescaping. Atom Processors that display such content MAY use that markup to aid in its display.

  This is not a bug in wp-o-matic but in the version of SimplePie used. I have manually upgraded to version 1.1.3 (http://github.com/rmccue/SimplePie/tarball/1.1.3 for direct download of the tarball). just replace inc/simplepie.class.php with the simplepie.inc included in the tarball.
